Transportation logistics is a branch of logistics that deals with the organization and management of the delivery and transportation of goods and merchandise to their final destinations. In general, it is responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling the transportation of any material object through the use of different means of transportation, such as trucks, trains, ships, planes, and others. This is done with the objective of guaranteeing that the goods reach their destination in the correct quantity, condition and time, efficiently and effectively. Transportation logistics is also responsible for cost management, routing planning, and choosing the appropriate means of transportation for each type of good and destination.
